This den, dedicated to the memory of Thom Fury, is maintained by Lorrieann Russell. Thom passed away in August of 2002. He was a life long friend, and extraordinary musician and poet. Thom was very proud of his Native American roots, and much of his poetry reflects his spirituality. The poetry posted here has been transcribed and collected from 20 years worth of journals and notes and scribblings found tucked in guitar cases and coat pockets. Some of it comes from a collaboration we had musically, but for the most part, it is all Thom. As part of a promise, I am diligently working to transcribe the volumes of handwritten poems and prose he left behind, and hope to publish along with the poetry of his friends and family, in a collection tentatively titled "From the Heart of The Bear".
