Housewife turned author, now a member of the acclaimed Harlem Writers Guild
Eartha Watts-Hicks is an honors graduate of the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury. She is a member of the acclaimed Harlem Writers Guild and the author of Love Changes, a novel soon to be published in the niche of urban inspirational romance.
For many years, she assumed the role of wife and stay-at-home mom. As a freelance writer, several of her articles have appeared in online publications, including her Reflections articles, which have been circulated via email and featured in Cultivating Our Sisterhood International Association's publication, COSIAnet, of which she is the former editor and director of publications. Eartha is a songwriter and music publisher registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Eartha is currently writing her second novel. The completion of her first novel, Love Changes, a novel with a companion music soundtrack, was the culmination of years of independent study, as well as the formal training in creative writing, fiction, and poetry she received at Marymount Manhattan College, City College of New York, the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center, and the intensive Advanced Novel workshop at Hurston/Wright Writers’ Week. Eartha Watts-Hicks is now represented by literary agent, Mary Yost, currently working on her behalf to place Love Changes with a mainstream publishing house.
