I am A new published author. This year has been an amazing one for me . I sent my first book of poetry “ Patti O’s Poems “ off to see if it would be published around the first of January 2010 . When they let me know they will be publishing my book of poems I was in shock. I knew I could write pretty well but to be publish, That’s huge !My family and friends have always loved my writing but there family and friends , What are they going to do if they don’t like it say “Oh man Patti that sucks” and laugh at me ? No they would hide it and then laugh later when I wasn’t around lol. So when I was told my release date by my publisher ( Publish America) I set a new challenge and goal . I was going to write 50+ more poems in 30 days and see if they would also be published. Sure enough my second book “An Earful” is for sale on publish America’s web page and will be released October 10th. When they let me know they were going to publish my second poetry book I accepted a new challenge from my two daughters. They wanted me to write a kids book. So for them I wrote a kids book about a miniature horse the girls and I bought at a sale to save him from going to slaughter That books name is “Tiny Turbo Finds A New Home “. So for almost a month I took pictures of Turbo and our other horses interacting and finally after 5 weeks I had my kids book written . I sent it in and Publish America is also publishing that for me as well. It is in the final stages of text now and I really can’t wait to see how it turns out. I would have to say my Family have really been great with all of the support they have given me . They pushed me to send in my first book of poems and now look at me go lol. I have always loved to write . I just never imagined in my wildest dreams I could ever be a published author Let alone a 3 time published author in one year. So many people tell me they never even knew I wrote poetry. Then they are totally shocked when I tell them I have been writing poetry and short stories since high school. So all in all in a nut shell , I am a new published author who will continue to put out poetry and more kids books about our mini horse as long as I am able to do so . Watch for more to come from me , You never know when I might challenge myself to a new aspect of writing. God Bless you and Yours ….Patti O
