Writing has been my first love as far back as I can remember--well, maybe not that far back.

I grew up as the daughter of an attorney who's speech was precise. I remember his corrections as I tried try to tell him something. "What did you say?" he asked over and over again until I could say what I had to say correctly. Though I didn't like it at the time, I learned to seek out the proper way to say something and this led to avid reading and writing.
Later, I was busy with everyday life. I was married and had three children, a set of twin boys and a girl. I also worked as a secretary and I had to put my writing on hold. I was 38 when I entered my first college classes and it took seven years of night school to earn my Associates Degree in Englished Lit.. I continued classes once I moved to Alabama, but, because of a physical problem, I was unable to continue. This physical problem led to a below-knee amputation of my left leg. My time of recuperation brought me closer to my writing goals.
Currently, I am kept busy with a business I operate out of my home and my writing. Sometimes, the only way I know my husband is alive and kicking is by the television blaring at my back.
