Before I became an author, I was an entertainer, pianist, singer, and published songwriter working out of Nashville, TN. I traveled throughout Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, the USA, including Alaska where I lived for almost six years.
Influences? Now that I'm older, and the world is crazy all around me, I truly realize how fortunate I was to be raised by wonderful parents in a home full of love. In my writing I try to touch reader's hearts, make them laugh, cry, get mad, and give them enough intrigue and suspense to keep them reading. That makes me feel like I'm passing on some of my many blessings.

Accomplishments

My greatest pleasure was raising my sons as a single parent before it was in fashion. My greatest achievement was completing my Ph.D. My greatest accomplishment is writing what readers enjoy. I was Market's Editor/Columnist at Writer's World for six years. My short stories and articles have appeared in Home Life; Good Old Days; Ptarmigan Ptimes/Adak Alaska Magazine; The Ptarmigan Ptimes/Adak Alaska newspaper; The Tellico Plains Mountain Press, and others. My first book, "Woman's Life On A Southern Tobacco Farm," a biography published in 1995 by Mellen Press, was entered in the Women's National Roll Of Honor. My second book, "Closing Down The American Base at Adak Alaska," published in 1997, has been placed in research libraries around the world. Awards received and contests won, were merely stepping stones to becoming a better writer. I'm currently working on Hound Dog Charlie, the second book in the Soda Creek Mystery series.
