Aviation is in my blood. I was raised around the world as an Air Force “brat,” starting school on the Pacific Island of Guam during the Korean War and finishing high school in France during the Vietnam War. Shortly after leaving France, DeGaulle kicked all American forces out of the country...but I swear it had nothing to do with me.

I spent 20 years as an Air Force pilot and logged over 4,000 military and civilian flying hours. In my civilian life, I worked on the B-2 bomber and the F-16, F-35, and F-22 fighter programs.

Since 1990, I have written more than 100 articles published in magazines in the US, England, and Australia, plus two monthly columns for aviation magazines, and six books (three fiction and three nonfiction), most dealing with history and/or aviation.

Kerrie and I have been happily married since 1968 and have two daughters and two grandchildren. We live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on a 40-acre farm populated with horses, cats, dogs, and an abundance of wildlife.

In 2010, my historical novel was released: "Once a Knight: A Novel of Aerial Combat and Romance in World War I." On Memorial Day 2011, my WW II history/biography was released: "Rough War: The Combat Story of Lt Paul J Eastman, a 'Burma Banshee' P-40 and P-47 Pilot."
