My goal in college was to major in journalism and become a newspaper reporter. After three years of college, I went to work at a daily newspaper and spent the next four years loving my career.

Huron College offered me scholarships and grants to complete my degree and I left the daily and traveled with my two young children to Huron, S.D. Unfortunately, the school didn't have a journalism program. As a result, I graduated with a B.A. in Education, which I never consciously expected to use.

Following graduation, I decided to become an entertainer so that I would have lots of time with my children. We traveled throughout the U.S. and I played piano and sang in piano bars, hotels, and restaurants. Later we settled and I continued to entertain, working with various-sized groups of musicians as well as performing as a solo musician and vocalist. I also opened a talent agency and academy. I also wrote a number of songs (both lyrics and music) and am a member of ASCAP.

After 25 years in that field, I was "drafted" (a story within itself) to become a public school teacher. I taught two years of 6th grade and two years of 5th grade. During my 5th year in public education, I obtained a Master and worked as an Academic Coordinator, first in the original school in which I taught, then transferring to another elementary school. After six years in public education, I resigned to move near my son and his family.

I lobbied regarding political and social issues, became involved in various local organizations, became a Master Gardner and a Master Composter and wrote a gardening column for a small local newspaper.

In 2007, I won first place in an online short story contest and believed I could write fiction. Quickly after that, I wrote the sweet Christian-based romance novel, Love Never Dies and recorded the song I wrote to accompany the book. It will be published in April, 2012 as an ebook.

My next writing project was a screenplay, Texas Trilogy: The Legacy.

In September, 2011, after chatting with a young cowboy in Wyoming, I wrote Cowboy Jesse and the College Girl and put the book on the back burner as I decided about publishing possibilities. I chose ebook publishing and am thrilled to finally see it formatted and ready to be uploaded. Creating the cover art was the most difficult part, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of that as I do more writing.

I love writing fiction!
