My Five Unicorns and Other Stories
My Five Unicorns and Other Stories is a delightful mixture of ten short stories from the imagination of Pat Fish. When you sit down to read this book, you will need a cup of coffee, a box of chocolates, and a pile of kleenex.
Without giving too much away, My Five Unicorns centers on a little girl's letters to her mother. Pat's "little girl" will captivate your heart, bring to the fore a sense of compassion, and make you want to hug her tight and take her home with you.
In her "Other Stories," you never know in which direction Pat is going to lead you and, having led you one way, will suddenly surprise you with the unexpected. In Pat's case, "leading one down the garden path" is very apt as you will discover when reading her murder/mystery stories.
The Memoirs of Josephine Fish
Would you believe... a book written by a cat? Why not? Cats are observant, creative and ingenious? And author Patricia Fish should know, since she has observed them often and carefully enough to capture the cat's particular brand of wit and quirks... or at least one cat's-Josephine Fish.
When Josephine the calico cat learns to type she finds herself embroiled in human politics- politics that affect animals throughout the nation. She finds herself becoming involved with the animals in her back yard, such as arrogant blue jays, busy chickadee families, and infuriating squirrels. Will she succeed in finding a way to help the animals and birds, or just in getting her humans arrested?
Why not? Cats are observant, creative and ingenious. And author Patricia Fish should know, since she has observed them often and carefully enough to capture the cat's particular brand of wit and quirks... or at least one cat's- Josephine Fish.
The Memoirs of Josephine Fish combines humor with a riveting plot as well as a few lessons the reader will easily deduce without being hit over the head with them.
