I am an undergraduate from Shenandoah University with a business administration bachelors degree. I thought that working in the marketing/advertising field was something that I wanted to do with my life, until I quickly realized that wasn't going to happen, and I focused on my writing instead. I have been writing for over 10 years and I never thought that I could make a career out it; I opened my eyes one day after being rejected by yet another marketing firm and realized that I could be a full-time writer. Why can't I do what I want to do with my life? So I wrote an amazing full length screenplay entitled "Heaven and Hell: The Battle of Angels & Demons", and I posted to numerous screenplay competitions. I also finished my first major young adult novel entitled Days in Nantucket. Once I realized exactly what I wanted to do, I searched for something that would help get my foot in the door. That's when I found the non-profit organizaton, WomanScope NewsMagazine, and they hired me on the spot as a book reviewer. I have been writing for them for about 6 months, going strong. I am learning so much about writing emotionally and wholeheartedly. I love it. I am still looking for full-time writing work; editorial, publishing, and internship work are something that I am open to. While I am looking for full-time work I am also seeking out a literary agent. To make it in the writing industry I need someone who can effectively, positively, and accurately market me and my work. Luckily for me I am bubbly, positive, and extremely ambitious.
