Born in Wales, brought up in England, and emigrated to the USA, I've zigzagged through a motley slew of professions from playing unofficial secret agent -- yes, really! -- while keeping a troupe of touring ballet dancers happy -- oxymoron? -- to editing a course on everything you wanted to know about astronomy. I've herded cats -- oops! I mean I've worked my passage in orchestral management, and I've taught piano and music theory (amazing how many people ain't got rhythm). Every step in this career maze was fun and full of writing on a wild range of topics from business law to Beethoven. But now I find writing for children brings even more magic. Some of my articles have been published in Stories for Children Magazine; a chapter book, Dewi, the Red Dragon, was published in knowonder! magazine; and MuseItUp Publishing released my children's adventure stories, Vin the Dorky Duet, and Dewi and the Seeds of Doom in 2012. I'm motivated by the enchantment of children's literature that bubbles up from its wonderful mix of innocence, imagination, escapism, and humor -- oh! and the fact I never grew up. Inspiration comes from everything -- news, experience, interests, causes -- and nothing. Sometimes I've no clue where an idea has dropped from. But because I love to see kids reading books that make them laugh and turn pages, humor is the goal I strive to accomplish.
