A twig on a family tree that contains a famous novelist, Elizabeth Carreker-Downs was born to write in Atlanta, Georgia. Almost as soon as the ink dried on her birth certificate, she began to scribble fiction and poetry to entertain her family and friends. After years of hot, southern afternoons spent typing beneath a benevolent air conditioning vent, Elizabeth chose a novel from her pile of manuscripts. She published Dolphin Gate in early 2012. It was done from a spirit of adventure and a 'might be fun, why not?' attitude.
She lives in North Georgia with her husband and 2 ferrets
