Now that our son Josh is in the Navy and I find myself with lots of leisure time on my hands, I have begun writing down the stories that have constantly filled my thoughts. With the exception of taking care of my husband, researching our genealogy and vacationing around the world, writing stories is at the top of my list of most favorite things to do. Plots and intrigue for my characters consistantly fill my head, often to the point where I am distracted in the middle of a conversation. When I get that far-away look in my eyes, John will ask me what I am thinking. "Nikki is arguing with Dristan," I respond - these are the stars of the new novel I am writing. With a shake of his head he draws me back into the conversation. He knows that although I love the people running around in my head, he is the only flesh and blood person to own my heart.
