I am a retired AF Msgt, who is battling end stage heart failure. In my first book, "Death:Living To Talk About it" I lay out all of the background on me, and treid to answer the question, "why at the age of 35 years did I have a heart attack so severe that it ended my military career, nearly ended my life many times and changed my life forever. My next project is chronicalling my journey living with end stage heart failure and the process of being put on a heart transplant list. Now that I am listed, I write about what it is like to wait for a new heart.
On the lighter side, I've also written management book and 5 scripts for educational videos. I am also working on an anthology of fictional short stories and poems.
Up until now, my writing had been limited to writing works of non-fiction. I have written a management book, several scripts for educational videos and two memoirs. I am actually in the midst of writing a third. So imagine my surprise when I got the urge to write fiction. Writing a fictional novel would be too much, I thought to myself. I would not know what to say for three hundred pages. Then it occurred to me. Write short stories. Then, I could explore many types of fictional situations. Writing poems, well that was just for fun. Who said poems must always provide existential or thought provoking themes. Is there a law which commands that poems must explore metaphorically the world around us? No - there is not. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I present to you a few poems just for fun.
Writing this collection was a wonderful diversion from what I normally do. I hope you will enjoy reading these stories and poems as much as I enjoyed writing them.
