Information

|
Jamie Jay (1978-Present) of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, has had a love for writing and illustration since early childhood. Her creations include a humorous series called "The Napkin Book" which she creates with her father, Kenneth Troutman. Together they visit local restaurants and doodle on napkins while waiting to be served. At times they are so into their sketching that when the meal arrives too soon, they are almost disappointed. Jamie has a collection of napkins too large to count. It is from these that she creates her series of books. In 2011, Jamie won the grand prize in the OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) Creative Mind Challenge (from the show Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind) with her video entry titled, "Inspiration is Everywhere!" featuring scribbles on recycled mail envelopes which she quickly turned into pieces of art using an ordinary black marker. The theme was, "What Inspires You". It will be interesting to see what fun and quirky idea she comes up with next. She is currently producing art for Shutterstock and iStockPhoto.
