While completing my undergraduate Business degree at UCONN I continued to take English Literature courses. I devoured the works of the American writers - Hemingway, Twain, Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Steinbeck, and Vonnegut but it was Michael Shaara's Killer Angels and Larry McMurtry's works that stimulated me to believe that if I ever came up with a story worth writing, I could write a novel one day.
That day came while commuting to work. My love for everything about Block Island, RI and a landscape of Block Island my wife had just painted for me stimulated the memory of a tale I had heard told when I first visited Block Island back in 1967. The classic light bulb flashed on above my head. This was the story!
Several years later I retired from a career in Corporate Finance and Employee Benefits in October, 2010 to pursue the dream of writing, publishing and selling novels.
