Real estate broker by day, author by night.

Background Information

Craig Fox is a North Carolina native and currently lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and two sons.  He became enamored with science fiction at an early age, often staying up late nights watching 1950's movie classics such as FORBIDDEN PLANET, EARTH VS. FLYING SAUCERS and others.  His main writing influences include sci-fi greats Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark, Ray Bradbury and others.

Craig's stayed in his comfort zone while writing his first novel, THE MOIRAE EFFECT.  This time-traveling murder mystery takes place in familar territory (North Carolina) and asks fundamental questions such as whether or not one's past can be altered (via time travel), or perhaps our destiny is predetermined and we are bound to live the life we were meant to lead.  His latest work, THE WINNING TICKET, is Craig's first venture in to the crime drama genre.

Much of Craig's time is focused on his real job (real estate) and his wonderful family.  Other interests include sports (go UNC!), astronomy (go figure), physics (just reading, no tinkering with the laws of nature) and other reading.

Munitions expert and dedicated husband Tony "Flinch" Martin bounces from job to job in a failing attempt to make ends meet. Meanwhile, former prison buddy Emerson Brown has married a billionaire's daughter, but faces the consequences of an ill-advised prenuptial agreement as the marriage fails. As the two men become reacquainted, Brown makes Flinch an offer he cannot refuse: redeem his $300 million lottery ticket so his estranged wife cannot claim it, and he will share the prize. Flinch soon learns there is much more to his friend's story than meets the eye, and is drawn into an unfamiliar world of seduction, greed and violence. He must risk his own life, as well as that of his friends and family, as he sidesteps the police while trying to outsmart those who would kill to get their hands on the winning ticket.

Following his near death in 1995, Detective Jack Reardon awakens eighty years in the future. He has been retrieved by an institution that uses time travel to bring together great minds from the past to serve humanity. Reardonís task: capture serial killer Joseph Fiines, who has escaped from the institution after being mistakenly retrieved from Reardonís time. Reardon succeeds in capturing the killer, but the attempt to return him to the past is sabotaged and Fiines himself is killed. Reardon now faces a dilemmaóFiines must be returned to the past to live out his life as destined, thus preserving history, but that now seems impossible. A risky plan is conceived, but complicated by the unknown saboteur, who desperately wants to prevent Fiinesí return to the past. To assure the planís success, Reardon must identify the saboteur and make an unthinkable personal sacrifice.
