I write because it's what I do. I write because it's not wrong or right, it's me. I encourage the youth I work with to write, since no one can take it away. I write to help myself heal, I write to help myself feel. I write to be free.
With working in communities that you see drugs, violence, children with one parent if they are lucky, I need something to help me continue working in the field I do. I help people, I educate people, I hear people, I am there for them. I express that they have a chance to make things better but that they need to believe.
I write since I can let go of what I see, how I feel, and why I continue. I write since I can and do make a difference.
