My writing includes poems, plays, short stories and two novels. The novel, Lament of Mohini (Penguin, 2000), was in the bestseller list and longlisted for the Crossword Prize. Four plays were staged (Dark Lord, Bow of Rama, Platform, Midnight Hotel). My articles, poems and stories are in magazines and anthologies.
For children: The Royal Rebel (Macmillan, 1997) , Devil's Garden: Tales of Pappudom (July 2006) and The Magic Store of Nu-Cham-Vu (August 2009). Also stories & poems in anthologies.
My novel Maria's Room was Longlisted for the inaugural Man Asian Literary Prize, 2007. It will be published by Harper Collins in 2009.
I like R. K. Narayan, Marquez, Colin Wilson & Rushdie because of their worlds and words.
I'm a columnist, and I teach Creative English to Maths students.
As a writer I shuttle between forms. I love music, though silence is best when I write.
