I graduated from Chico Sr. High School, Chico, CA back when dirt was a new concept. I immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy W.A.V.E.S. where I trained as a Dental Chairside Assistant. Over the years I have taken classes and attended workshops in creative writing with an emphasis in poetry. I also edited the small press publication "RockFalls Review" for six years. My favorite teacher and mentor is Dr. Donovan Welch, Professor Emeritus in Creative Writing at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I also am influenced by Past Nebraska State Poet William Kloefkorn, Ted Kooser, William Carlos Williams, Jean Keezer-Clayton and Ray Clark Dickson.
I am currently taking classes through a community college so eventually I can achieve degrees in jounalism and English, which papers I will proudly display on the wall next to the door at Wal-Mart when I become one of their senior greeters.
I am wife of 34 years, married to Skip. We have two children, both grown and out of the nest, most of the time though neither are married nor have they provided us with the requisite grandchildren.
