I wrote my first book at the age of six. The book was "Heidi", by Johanna Spyri. But I 'wrote' it all--first page to last--on lined, yellow, legal-size pads, copied painstakingly in a child's illegible scrawl. I vowed that someday I would write my own stories.
I started small, with poems and essays and short stories, which were published in school newsletters, children's magazines, and a few local publications. More recently, I completed my first novel "The Pope and Rainbow Sprinkles". Currently, I am compiling essays for a non-fiction anthology called "Better Strangers".
