Published Articles by Southern Author to be Released

Danny Von Kanel, former Minister of Minister of Music & Education at Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa, LA and Christian author recently had several articles accepted for publication. Two articles are teaching related. They are: Corralling A Porcupine (Six Time Honored Ways to Nurturing Away Defiance), Teachers of Vision, August, 2009 and Could it be ... An Error in Judgment" (Corrective Discipline for a Group Leader), Small Groups.com, October, 2009.

In addition, Von Kanel will have two worship features in Let’s Worship. They are “Bringing Others to Christ”, Fall, 2009 and “Body Praise”, 2010. Both pieces are dramatic readings. 

Von Kanel has hundreds of articles published in 45+ magazines crossing denominational lines plus on the World Wide Web. He has led writer’s conferences for the Louisiana Baptist Convention and Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa, Mississippi School of Fine Arts.

While in the Natchitoches, LA area, Von Kanel led a “Get Published Seminar” sponsored by the Natchitoches Parish Library. With 40 writers in attendance, Hope Fergusen of Natchitoches said,

“I came away informed, organized, and inspired with a renewed zeal for writing.
The conversations I heard as people were leaving were positive in regard to what they’d just heard. I think people were realizing they could write in more than one style / venue and that they should write more. Overall, I believe they were encouraged and pleased that they had learned how to go about submitting their writings to publishers. Many thanks for putting forth the effort to assist aspiring writers.”

Von Kanel has two books published, “Built by the Owner’s Design” (The Positive Approach to Building Your Church God’s Way), 2003 and “Building Sunday School by the Owner’s Design” (100 Tools for Successful Kingdom Growth), 2005 by CSS Publishing. Danny recently submitted his third book for publication entitled, “Building Your Life by the Owner’s Design” (The Positive Approach to Building Your Life God’s Way).

In the summer of 2008, Von Kanel founded and coordinated a School of Fine Arts at Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa where he served as Minister of Music.
