As an undergrad at UCLA, I wanted to start writing films, so I took a few classes and gained entry into the MFA of Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California. During those years, I studied the Meisner Technique of acting, and my writing naturally turned to more of an actor's - and a writer's medium - than film: the stage.

For the next ten years, I wrote, directed, produced, and acted in plays, had some produced in New York and earned some local recognition in Seattle. It was a great time of work for me.

Soon, however, I was called back to Los Angeles to pursue film professionally. I worked in Development for a small film and television production company and learned the business of writing from the inside. I sold a script to CBS, a Movie of the Week, just when longform television entertainment was eclipsed by reality TV. So the script has yet to be produced (CBS has kept it all this time in thier development slate).

Meanwhile, I wrote and produced a feature-length comedy, Bigfeet, a guerilla-style piece of filmmaking where I met a woman. When I was ready to leave LA for Seattle so that we could pursue a less telephonic courtship, I was working on my first novel. After a year and a half, Linda Sue and I were married and shortly thereafter, I completed my novel, The Autobiography of a Narcissist.

I am currently working on my next novel, and we have since relocated to the wine country of northern California
