I have been writing for a very long time, but professionally since 1999. When I was ten years old I started writing stories where the main characters were animals. As I grew older, the stories grew too.
I stopped writing for a few years and started raising a family. When my oldest son, Nicholas, was 3, I started writing again.
Nicholas' dad brought home a huge beetle he had found in the parking lot at his work. Nicholas loved that thing. He played with it, took care of it, and set it free one day. Hearing his loving conversations with this beetle made me think ... so I jotted it down. Many years later, it became my first published children's book - "Beetle Bug Adventures: The Castle". This book was published with a company that is no longer in business (Wordbeams Publishing) in January of 2000. I have since reworked this book and am looking to republish it. I have added three stories for the main characters Poppy and Hue and plan to write a few more.
I worked on children's books after that, writing several that came to be published with Writer's Exchange EPublishing - they are still published with them. When a fellow writer friend asked me to write a book about gargoyles with her, I said yes being that I had never written a novel before. So... that's how we came up with "Gargoyle Tears". This book is now published with Tarbutton Press. It isn't perfect, but it's a start to the print world of publishing.
In 1999, two months after moving my family to a new home, my husband invited me on a business trip to Houston. While he was at these all-day meetings, I started writing my first by-myself novel - "Notes on the Windowsill". This book is out with Zumaya Publishing and is listed as a paranormal. I have always been fascinated with the spirit world. I can't exactly say why or when it happened, but I have always been a believer.
I have finished my second paranormal "suspense" novel and have been self-editing it for about three years now. This novel is called (which may change) "The House on Eleanor Street". While trying to advance my professional writing career, I have raised three children with the love of my life - Thom. I work during the day as the Editor, Graphic Designer, and Layout Designer for a small, but growing newspaper called - The Picket News. I enjoy it very much and think this is the best paper out there!
