Background Information

As a visual artist, businessman, radio and television talk show host, weekly newspaper columnist, poet, novelist and management consultant for recording artists and publicist for authors and other notable figures, Cyrus A. Webb (C. A. Webb) has built a brand from the very name he was given. Through his organization, C. A. Webb, Inc., Webb has founded a business that truly meets its slogan of "molding to meet your needs."

Since 2003 C. A. Webb, his Conversations brand and Shadow Play Entertainment have enjoyed years of history-making events and record-breaking activities. With new marketing deals, exclusive interviews, exploding new partnerships, the organization continues to grow, bringing with it more opportunities for creatives all over the world. In 2009 Shadow Play Entertainment broke new ground with its reality show "The Write Stuff", the search for the next big thing in publishing. For details visit

After 4 years on WMPR 90.1 FM, in 2008 Webb moved his celebrated radio talk show to Blog Talk Radio online, capturing a new worldwide audience with exclusive interviews from movers and shakers in the worlds of the arts and entertainment. Included in the historic roster were candidates from the hit VH1 reality show I WANT TO WORK FOR DIDDY, MTV's 50 CENT'S THE MONEY AND THE POWER, and several designers from the BRAVO sensation PROJECT RUNWAY.

Back in November 2006 he added to his growing brand by giving birth to the nation's first interactive book club, CONVERSATIONS BOOK CLUB ( Since its creation, Conversations Book Club has hosted over 100 authors and become one of the most respected literary organizations to date.

With his business partner, Stanley Clark, the two have formed FOR THE PEOPLE PRODUCTIONS, a marketing/event-planning organization.

“Conversations” began as a platform to give attention to the movers and shakers in the arts community in Jackson, MS and around the state. It also addresses issues that today’s artists face and discusses how the arts can be used to strengthen communities. With his magazine he has attracted national attention with his interviews with Tyler Perry, Francis Ray, Trista Russell, Terry E. Hill, Carl Weber, Travis Hunter, Evie Rhodes and Bikari Kitwana. In March 2004, he also interviewed horror writer Brandon Massey of Atlanta, GA, discussing his sophomore novel DARK CORNER, following up in July 2004 by interviewing national bestselling author Jamise Dames (author of MOMMA'S BABY, DADDY'S MAYBE.)

In May 2004, he debuted the first televised edition of his talk show "Conversations with C. A. Webb" on 16 WAPT in Mississippi, paving the way for its regular airing.

He has been an active supporter of the arts in Mississippi for over a decade, having been honored with various awards for his creative talents in both writing and art. In 1990 and 1991 the National Association of Poetry recognized him as one of their Golden Poets, publishing two of his poems in their annual anthology. In summer 2000, The International Library of Poetry published four of his poems in their online anthology.

In 1996, he began C. A. Webb Inc., an organization committed to providing education through the arts and programs geared at improving the community for the youth as well as the elderly. “Reflections of You,” a subsidiary of his business was created in August 1998 and became the trademark of his new art collection that focused on the colorless trait of emotion. With this exhibit, Mr. Webb visited MS State Hospital, libraries, several public schools, museums and other public establishments, displaying his work and offering assistance to non-profit organizations. Since its inception, the collective exhibit has been viewed by an audience of over 75,000.

In December 1999, Channel 12 recognized C. A. Webb as a Hometown Hero in recognition of his work with education. Because of his involvement with the arts and education, he has been volunteering his time with several public schools; his own free program CAW (Creative Arts Workshop) began in February 2000 with classes through August 2000. It provided free instruction in art techniques and creative writing. The same program was implemented in Pecan Park Elementary in September 2000. In 2001, the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce spotlighted C. A. Webb as one of their Artist of the Month for October.
