ANTHONY MARAIS was born in Hollywood and grew up in and around Los Angeles. In 1985 he co-founded a local pop-group “The Squids,” before moving to Paris, France. He studied anthropology at U.C. Berkeley and archaeology at Simon Fraser University in Canada, during which time he traveled extensively throughout Polynesia. Today he lives between Germany and America. His influences range from Oscar Wilde to Milan Kundera, although he claims that literature can only grow from music.
