About the Author: Marilyn Dungan, author of the Laney McVey Series, has paused in her series to pursue a mystery of her own — the identity of four subjects in vintage photographs found in her father’s papers. A River Away is the result of five years of research that explains why her father was so reticent about his family’s history. Raised in Pittsburgh, Ms. Dungan graduated with high honor from Taylor Allderdice High School where she was awarded a merit scholarship to Penn State University. In 1968, she and her family moved to the Bluegrass Area of Kentucky where she attended the University of Kentucky. She lives with her husband on a farm overlooking a beautiful river-size creek.
