Background Information

Ms. Davis was born Juanita McCollister in Cordell, OK in 1958. She is one of seven children. She is divorced with three young adults. She has eight grandchildren. Ms. Davis' major influences were her parents. She enjoys reading, poetry, music, nature, foreign languages, learning, caring and sharing.

Ms. Davis has an honorable mention in the Poetry Guild. She has degrees in Computer Sci, Sociology and Liberal Arts. Mrs. Davis holds a lifetime certification as a Paraprofessional Title I. She has served as a member of her local choir and usher board. She has served as Secretary to the OPEA and Federal Executive Council. She currently resides in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Davis has volunteered for the YMCA Boys and Girls Club - "Come Read with Me", a program sponsored through the MLS/OKC. She's a "STAR" volunteer with the OKC Civic Center Music Hall. Mrs. Davis is the innovator of the Cultural Awareness Program during her tunure as a Federal Employee with the AG Statistics Division at the State Agriculture Building in Okla. City, OK. Also during her tenure as an Admn Asst(OA), at the Ag Building - Ag Statistics Division, Mrs. Davis was the innovator of the standardization concepts of travel documents ADM022 and AD202 utilized in the federal sector of these USA. Mrs. Davis supports the OKBM and Performing Arts Center associated with the Cultural Connection Magazine based in OKC, OK. Mrs. Davis is working to start her not for profit organization - "STTOOOP" = Stop tryin' to 'opt out of parenting- with the agenda to support and strengthen the family core. Mrs. Davis has presented her works as an author/pictorial illustrator: "Nanny Tell Me A Story - The Story of A Dollar" - 2006; "My Friend - Mr. Moon" - 2009, through local libraries, newspapers and bookstores. She was a semi-finalist and honorary member-December/2006 @ International Library of Poets.
