Born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama and currently residing in Opelika, Alabama, Shani Greene-Dowdell is wife and a mother of three. She attended Troy State University at Montgomery, Alabama and Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Alabama with the goal of becoming a nurse like her mother. Today, she works as a medical transcriptionist at East Alabama Medical Center. Shani's family and friends say that she could be found carrying a diary around to journal her thoughts as a young girl. However, it was not until 2005 - on a challenge from a friend - that she set out to pen her first novel and hence the rivoting drama, Keepin' It Tight, was born. Once she started writing Keepin' It Tight, it was impossible for her to put the pen down and she knew that writing was her passion.
Since 2005, Shani has received numerous awards for her writing and hosted and attended several events across the United States to promote her work. Her latest big event, was a nearly sold-out stage play for her second novel, Secrets of a Kept Woman. She plans to continue to create stories that will both entertain and enlighten her readers.
