It’s simple enough, I guess -- I write in the horror genre and dabble in dark poetry. I have been writing for 50 years, and only until recently have written for myself. Karma placed in my life a wonderful woman at the age of 52, who loved my writing and encouraged me to “go public” with it. I have always written for enjoyment...
I live in a rural community, resplendent with farmers rolling down my road on their huge tractors, horses grazing in a pastoral setting, and the easiness and quiet of a small town to the west of our lovely home. We live on 4 acres of wooded property, and my studio faces East, where the morning light inspires me to put pen to paper.
I will be 60 years old in a short 2 months. I am a Buddhist, making my own feeble attempt to walk the 8 folded path. My writing is inspired by King, Koontz, and the old masters like Poe, Shelley, and, naturally, Bram Stoker. My writing allows me to visit my dark side, and brings no harm to any sentient being.
Personally, I am a Viet Nam vet, a recovering addict, and have been a biker for more years than I wish to acknowledge. I am currently working on a novel, entitled Ariel, about a young vampire that has returned to haunt the rolling loess hills of Iowa, and is brought to task by a Rom farm boy. It goes well...
I work in the service of others, being a Vocational Services Specialist for a not for profit vocational rehab facility. My life is full, rewarding, and each night I say, as I lie abed alongside my loving wife and feel her warm hand enfolding mine, “Life is good...”
