I started writing at the tender age of eight. My first characters were the people I saw on buses and subways. Research, education, and of course, travel, are alive in every word that I write. I have written all genres - children and adult fiction and nonfiction; novels, short stories, feature articles - even restaurant reviews - in 19 books and hundreds of articles. I was awarded Women of Distinction from Distinction Magazine, was an Anthony Award nominee, Eddie Award winner, and recognized by community leaders and politicians across the country. I have appeared on television, radio, in print, and on the internet.
