just shake from the horsepower.I remember the problems I had trying to keep a transmission in the car.With friends I attended the dragster competitions in Washington State.I travelled in a 1967 red mustang from Vancouver British Columbia across the border into Washington State along the freeway to Omaha Nebraska to the East Coast of the United States and down through Tennesse,Kentucky,North and South Carolina into Florida and Walt Disney World and back across the central United States to California and into Montana(Yellowstone National Park) where I crossed the border into Alberta and back to British Columbia.I married in 1968.My son Rory Howard Scott Campbell was born JAN 01 1969.In SEPT of 1969 I began employment at BC Tel as a installer/repairman of telecommunications equipment.I organized/President of the Telephone Employees Slowpitch Softball Association.As a family we relocate to Kamloops.I am employed with BC Tel as a Outside Plant Engineer.I specialized in the preparation of multimillion dollar Digital Multiplex System voice/data rural communication project proposals to be approved by a Capital Budget Committee.After approval I prepared a work order of new plant to be constructed then drafted and distributed to a control center for distribution to other engineering groups and the construction department.I controlled the budget at all times.I organized/President of the Telephone Employees Community Fund giving money to charities like the United Way.I organized/President of the Kamloops Soccer Association.I organized/President of the Kamloops Mountaineering Association,we climbed Mount Columbia in the winter and Mount Sir Donald in the summer.I was a member of the Alpine Club of Canada.As a family we backpacked into Mount Robson Provincial Park to Berg Lake.With friends I helicoptered skied in the winter at Mike Quigley's in Blue River.As a family we downhill skied in the winter at Tod Mountain.My son and I backpacked into Lake Magog in Assiniboine Provincial Park.With members from the Kamloops Mountaineering Club we climbed all the Valley of the Ten Peaks overlooking Moraine Lake.After avalanche season in the Selkirks Rogers Pass we ski mountaineered in Hermit Meadows.As a family in the winter we cross country skied at Manning Park.In MARCH of 1978 I took the oath of a RCMP Officer,Kamloops Detachment,Traffic Department,Auxillary.We as a group backpacked the 100 mile Skyline Trail from Jasper to Lake Louise.My wife and I drifted apart.I was away from home long periods of time.We seperated then divorced.I relocated to Vancouver to be closer to my son Rory Howard Scott Campbell.I was employed at BC Tel in BICS.I organized/President of the first BC Telephone Racquetball Tournament.I started travelling internationaly.My first international trip was to Greece in Europe.From Athens by ferry I visited the islands of Mikonos,Rhodes and Santorini.My second international trip was to Algeria in Africa for a camel safari in the Sahara Desert.My third international trip was to India in Asia.From New Delhi I flew to Srinigar where I stayed on a house boat on Dal Lake.After I took a pony trek into the Garwhal Himalayan Mountains.My fourth international trip was in 1983 to Nepal in Asia where I participated in my first porter trek.After a flight via a Twin Otter from Kathmandu to the airstrip at Lukla we porter trekked towards Mount Everest.On my return to Kathmandu in MAY of 1983 in Kunde I met with Sir Edmund Hillary,the first man to climb Mount Everest.Over the months I returned to India several times attending International Mountaineering Conferences sponsored by Air India and the World Tourism Organization in Manali and Darjeeling.My second porter trek in Nepal was in 1984 to Manang and over the Thorong La Pass to Phedi and Muktinath.In the spring of 1985 I took my first group of corporate clients from my employer BC Tel on a adventure holiday to Asia.We visited the Taj Mahal in India and porter trekked in Nepal,Around the Annapurnas.Returning to Kathmandu we flew to New Delhi where I left the group and flew to Calcutta to attend a International Mountaineering Conference.It was in Calcutta that I had the opportunity to meet with the brother of the King of Bhutan.Along with friends I was invited to visit Bhutan.We flew via Druk Airlines from Calcutta to Paro.By car we journeyed down the Thimpu Valley from Paro to Thimpu.At a archery contest in Thimpu I had the opportunity to meet with His Majesty the King of Bhutan.We left the Land of the Thunder Dragon returning to Calcutta.In June of 1985 at Mother House I met for the first time Mother Teresa.We chatted for awhile.I left Calcutta for New Delhi and returned to Canada.
