Valdez V. Fisher, Jr., was born August 20, 1974, in Baltimore City, Maryland. From a small child, his love for written word was illustrated, as he often chose the writing of repetitive sentences as punishment for misbehavior. Unbeknownst to his mother, Rosalind, this was actually no punishment at all. Beginning at age five, Valdez has written hundreds of poems, letters, and essays, generally geared to uplift, or promote self-esteem. Aside from writing, he has a deep passion for children and the elderly. Through writing and public speaking, he graced the front pages of The Woodlawn Villager, a Baltimore County based publication, and the Baltimore City based Afro-American Newspaper, in 1994. Later that same year, he was interviewed on Baltimore’s "Heaven 600" radio station, (a Radio One Broadcast); and, received exclusive coverage on the "Coffee With" segment of Maryland’s most watched and beloved morning news broadcast, WJZ-TV 13, hosted by Marty Bass and Don Scott. In 1999, endeavoring to share his talent on a far larger scale, Valdez subscribed to America Online (AOL), and created the immortal screen-name, Amanofkindwords. He touched the hearts of thousands of Internet subscribers, who emailed him letters of praise and motivation, after reading his masterful homepage, bursting with inspirational poetry, and stories of triumph. His legendary writing style delivers a powerful punch, in easy to comprehend, layman’s terms.
