I write historical and paranormal romance stories. To hone my skills as a romance writer, I attend national and local writing conferences and am a member of the RWA, the Beau Monde, and the Outreach International Romance Writers Chapter. When I was a freshman in college, I took two courses on British literature and have been fascinated by England ever since. Although I've has traveled through Europe, including a year when I resided in Northern Ireland, I prefer to set my stories in England and focus especially on the Regency era.
My alter ego is Sara Lara Sanchez (my grandmother's maiden name), who writes YA fiction and magical realism short stories.
I'm also a Ph.D. student at a Florida university, and my research interests include the Regency era, the history of the romance novel, and British women writers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
January Note: I'm happy to announce that my short story, The Earl's Enchantment, has been nominated in the romance short story category of the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll. This annual poll has a number of categories, and you can vote until January 15th.
