Stan Frith - from a humble beginning I grafted my way through school, college and university to eventually acquire an MBA. With hard work, some tenacity (and my fair share of good fortune) I enjoyed a successful business career and a place on the Boards of several prestigous companies. However, lurking below the surface there has always been a constant and very strong desire to write and so, along

Background Information

Like most poets I enjoy a strong sense of the evanescence of experience. The poems featured in my debut book of verse "Time in Between" house the feelings and experiences of my journey through life as well as the things I saw and felt along the way. A life long admirer of poets who I feel 'run in the bloodstream' or are 'evocative for a lifetime - Blake, Browning, Burns, Byron, Keats, Kipling, Longfellow, Milton, Shelley, Tennyson etc my work tends to follow a traditionalist vein.
Others have ajudged my work as follows: Much like a philosopher, Stan Frith layers question upon question in his book of poetry "Time in Between." With vivid descriptions and lilting rhyme he explores topics ranging from the unfathomable reaches of the imagination in 'Awakening from a Beleaguered Dream' to his more serious commentary concerning depravation and poverty in 'Enlightenment' and 'The Starving Child'. It is this wide array of topics accompanied by his telling perception, which will surprise and inspire his audience.
Perhaps more uncommon is the modest style Frith employs in his verse. Compelling and powerful vistas reflect a fiery passion as he illustrates a genuine concern and love for this planet, mother nature and his fellow human beings. He addresses war, terrorism, corruption, pollution......and religion, with equal verve.
"Time in Between" is a captivating collection of work which extends well beyond the confinements of the page, offering readers poignant insight and advice which will sustain and uplift even the most downtrodden spirit.

Literary editor and critic Sam Holliday wrote: Stan Frith's poetry is evocative, powerful and uncompromising. His colourful use of words and imagery is used with great effect on a wide variety of subjects and he has the ability to occasionally shock and surprise.

Lidia Vianu, writer, critic and Professor of Contemporary British Literature wrote: I find Stan Frith to be more of a ballad-maker than a post-modernist poet. "He sounds like the troubadours, like an Arthurian Graal seeker; like Coleridge with his 'Ancient Mariner. He recouperates all history in his themes and brings it up to date"

Midge Ure, the well known songwriter and musician who, with Bob Geldof, organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 to raise money for famine relief says that Stan's work constitutes a powerful and thought-provoking collection - and it is to help others. I commend him on this a fantastic achievement.
