Nothing is more exhilarating, depressing, rewarding, humiliating, enlightening, confusing, than being a writer. For certain, it is never boring.

I'm a writer of short fiction and non-fiction. I've published in magazines and e-zines. I love to write fantasy adventure novels for the middle grade reader, and I have completed two at this writing. A third is in revision. I have also completed a young adult novel that tackles the subject of teen suicide. It will be published in April'09 by WestSide Books.
I’m a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, an active member of three critique groups, and attend conferences regularly.

I hold a MA in Linguistics and specialize in intercultural communication. I've won two fiction awards as a novice fiction writer, but most of my publications are in the non-fiction area of my field. Now I'm gradually building credits in the field of children and young adult fiction.
I've published magazine articles, but prefer writing fiction for younger readers.
