I was born and raised in Ventura, California, the home of Earl Stanley Gardner. I loved Perry Mason and some critics have said my legal mysteries reflect that influence. Steven King is my favorite author. I also read Scottalini, Grisham, Patterson, Sheldon and Koontz among others. Of course, everybody loves Harry Potter.
After writing ten mysteries, I've strayed into the fantasy/sci fi genre. It's much different and more challenging for me, but I'm having lots of fun and more success than I expected. Act Normal was featured in a Library Journal article last year called Hot Crime Trends by Jo Ann Vicarel along with the hugely popular, Charlane Harris. Just to be mentioned in the same sentence with such a fine author is exhilerating to say the least. Just recently I actually sat next to Charlane Harris at a book signing in Mobile Alabama and she was kind enough to ask for a copy of my latest work, Tarizon.
I just found out that next month Tarizon: The Liberator will be featured in a ForeWord Magazine article about new novels for young adult readers. I've posted an advance copy of the article for anyone interested in seeing it.

Additional information
|
| My latest novel,Tarizon: The Liberator, has just now been released. It's my first venture into straight science fiction and was quite challenging. Luckily one of my children, Michael, is a good writer and a science fiction addict, so I had him edit the first draft of Tarizon and he provided me with an excellent critique and helped me avoid making any fatal mistakes. |
