Stephen L. Gibson has been a successful entrepreneur, corporate pilot, consultant, and long-time elected official. In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, however, his natural fascination with belief—epistemology—grew into a journey of introspection and inquiry that has periodically been both invigorating, and painful. Thousands have shared Steve's journey through his books, podcast, blog and lectures.

Background Information

By his late-thirties it had become clear to Steve that Artemus Ward was right—sometimes it’s not what we know that can get us into trouble, it’s what we know that just isn’t so. With the black-and-white simplicity of young adulthood behind him, he set out on an intensive journey of inquiry that led to write a self-published, “back-of-the-room” book called Truth-Driven Thinking. Ironically, that book reflexively compelled Steve to even greater levels of epistemological self-examination, and he has subsequently produced DVD’s and multi-media interviews with several bestselling authors, scholars, theologians, and scientists. The  culmination of Stephen Gibson's experiences and journey is expressed in his new novel about the origins, nature, and dangers of fallible human beliefs. The novel is called A Secret of the Universe: A Story of Love, Loss, and the Discovery of an Eternal Truth. Please visit In March of 2006, Steve launched a regular Truth-Driven Thinking netcast/podcast, and added a blog about the real-life applications of a skeptical worldview, in 2009. The BLOG is called Perspectives: Food for the Skeptic's Soul, and is located at

In addition to his media work and publications as a so-called "skeptic," Steve is an accomplished scuba diver; a commercial pilot and former flight instructor; and is an avid skier and golfer. Steve is a vocal supporter of public education and is president of his local board of education. He also has consulted for numerous businesses on matters of business development and interpersonal communications, and is a certified distributor of Inscape Publishing’s DISC series of assessment tools.

Additional Information

Steve Gibson and his publisher, Truth Driven Stategies, are currently promoting his newest book, "A Secret of the Universe", which is fundamentally about belief--in God, sexual ethics, morals, political ideologies--told through two friends’ struggle to make sense of life’s triumphs and tragedies, which they interpret through very different religious filters. When profound revelations lead each friend to uncover shocking historical "secrets" in support of his own worldview, their odyssey plays out on a global stage, with tragic consequences. Only by embracing the inherent mystery and pain of their quest do Ian and Bill make the discovery that really matters—a genuine secret of the universe. Media releases, brochures, hi res images, book cover art, a downloadable Discussion Guide, and a 3-minute promotional video can all be found by clicking on the "PRESS ROOM" box at
