A vision led me to write my book "Finding Green Gold". Finally I knew I had to quit journalism and do my share to make the world a better place. "Finding Green Gold" is the result. After I had gotten this book out of my system, I have written a cookbook 'Kornelia's Kitchen', featuring Mediterranean cooking with ingredients you find everywhere in the world.

Background Information

A vision led me to write my book "Finding Green Gold": 1995 I was standing in front of a mirror in Manali, a town in the Indian Himalayas. I was wondering why I had met so many strange people recently, people involved in illegal activities nobody really wanted to talk about. Being a long-time journalist the silence of the freaks had made me curious and I had done a lot of observing and listening to know more about this scene. It helped that information comes easily to me in all kinds of ways and at this point in time I had learned quite a lot about what was going on in the Indian Himalayas. I was standing in front of the mirror and wandering what I should do in the future. I had come to India after a divorce, during a 2 year break from my work as an editor at a Bavarian newspaper. I looked into my eyes and the story line of "Finding Green Gold" appeared in my head. It seemed so logic, a story where I could use all my traveling and other experiences to entertain people and to get my point across: Everything is love, even addiction, and going insane temporarily can be a great experience.
It took me a long time to publish my book for different reasons. The first version, about 400 printed pages long, I wrote in 1997 and it took me 3 months to write it. In 1999 a Bavarian publisher showed interest and asked me to rewrite it, which I did two times. In 2001 he dropped the project and I was so disappointed and hurt that I just forgot everything about the book. In 2006 I decided to end my existence as only-housewife and mother. At this point in time I realized that my unfinished book project keeps me from starting something new. So I translated my manuscript, which was written in German, into English language. This time I did not look for a publisher, but published it myself on At the moment I am in the process of getting the book sold via and the other online-bookstores, but this takes a little while.
In my daily life I take care of our big house, my husband and son and 4 boxer dogs. I meditate regularly and I have attended 3 Kalachakras, tantric initiations given by the Dalai Lama. Although I very much respect the Tibetan culture and religion, I believe everybody should find his or her own guru within. I further believe that everything is love, even the dark sides of life. When light is thrown on a shadow, the shadow disappears.
After this spiritual phase I turned to more mundane subjects. I have written about two decades of Mediterranean cooking in India and finally found a publisher for 'Kornelia's Kitchen'.

I am a certified newspaper journalist who worked also for a private radio station. Altogether I worked 10 years as an employed journalist, specialized in local politics. I have written hundreds of articles in German language and whenever possible I published social and ecological themes. For example I have written a series about the Tibetans in McLeod Ganj, each article covering a full newspaper page, and an equally long article about the Dalai Lama visiting Munich.
I was traveling all my life, not only in Asia, but also in Europe and the USA.
I grew up in Ansbach, a small town in Bavaria, as the daughter of public servants. Thanks to my strictly catholic upbringing I grew up with a big hunger for life. At age 18 I promised myself never to let fear keep me away from experiencing my life to the fullest. I kept true to this promise until today, although now I am a wife and mother and I live a pretty much bourgeois lifestyle. First I did a bit of University, then I became a newspaper journalist thanks to a trainee program which is unique in Germany. Then I shifted to Greece and traveled extensively in Nepal and India. Back in Germany I started a serious career as a radio and newspaper journalist. After divorcing my Greek husband I left for 2 years to travel on a motorbyke through India. During this time I met my present husband and never returned to the newspaper, also due to the vision I described above. I got married again in 1997 and our son was born in 1999.
I do not mind that I never received an far I have enjoyed an interesting and enjoyable life away from mainstream careers. I am proud that I have written "Finding Green Gold". I believe I had to do this for the world and myself. My latest project is a cookbook which was praised by the press in Goa where I live and is selling very well.
