Basically, I write because it gives me the freedom to express myself. My brother, sister, and I grew up poor, without a lot of money for toys and such, so we developed a love of reading (Mostly "grown-up" books, because that is what our parents had around.) We also developed a healthy imagination, and a sense of adventure. Carrying that over into my own personal "grown-up" life, it has helped me through many obstacles, and helped me to enjoy many exciting things. It has also given me the ability to write material that other people can enjoy.

Where to start? Most recently, I was involved in the production of a low-budget film, called the Vampires of Zanzibar. We finished shooting at the end of June, 2007. The movie won't hit the shelves for a good bit, due to post-production and the like, but it is very exciting to be involved in something like that, and it also helped accomplish one of my life goals, which was to act in a movie. Another work that has been in progress for probably five years now, is a book that is being co-written by my brother and my best friend, Jean Teotonio. Together, the three of us have churned out about 300 pages of what eventually will be 1500-2000 pages. Technically, we have probably 500 pages already written, but we have only about 300 consecutive pages from the beginning, with all the other work being little snippets of how we want the story to unfold. We've got parts from all the chapters written, we are just slowly working on playing connect-the-dots. Finally, I work on a lot of random odd poetry and short stories, which are quite a bit easier to stay focused on, so tend to get done, rather than pushed aside.
