I have a degree in journalism from Ball State University, and I've been writing my whole life. After reading Jane Eyre, I realized how a great book could be both an escape from an unhappy life and a model for being successful. In my work, I add value, education, inspire and entertain.

I received a Silver Anvil from Public Relations Society of America for my work in FarmAid.

I'm currently co-chair of Sisters in Crime's Forensic University of St. Louis, the first all forensic writers conference in history. And I am the vice-president of my local Sisters in Crime chapter.
