She comes from a family line of entrepreneurs, which prompted her motivation to pursue her goals of owning her own businesses, i.e. retail clothing, modeling and writing. Ms. Hurtt-Thomas is the proud Mother of two lovely children (T.H.III and Monica Michelle). She and her family traveled the world and resided in the state of Texas. She now has three grand children (Emahni, Alisa and Jaylen). Denise currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri where she is happily married to her husband Frederick Douglas Thomas. They both gained an interest in writing to express some of their formal life experiences on paper.

Denise is a long time member of ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) her chapter Golden Royalties Chapter, Kansas City, MO consist of women of various professions. Denise is called upon to speak at monthly meetings to render words of encouragement, spirituality, and motivation and for self-empowerment and increased personal and professional performance to members and guest. She also writes a monthly article published in ABWA monthly bulletin for her chapter and has received raving reviews.

Denise is a former student of “Writers Anonymous Workshops, Inc.”, a local group of writers and authors that provide workshops for aspiring talented speakers and writers. She is a long time member of the greater Ebenezer Baptist Church where she serves as the official motivational spokeswomen and hostess for all social events and occasions. She has studied under her pastor and mentor, the Reverend Jesse Frazier, a nationally renowned evangelist.

Denise recently completed her first book titled; “BUILDING FROM THE INSIDE TO THE OUT SIDE; STARTING TODAY”: Her book is motivational, Inspirations for your aspirations with affirmations a spiritual reference to common sense… Reflects her strongest belief that your inner beauty is one of your greatest assets. And we should take full advantage of this gift. Hold in consciousness the truth that you are, spiritual and specially crafted in achieving a brighter and successful life. Building your goals differently, from introverted to extroverted from action focused to reflect the mood shifts and becomes internal, questioning rationale and brings solidity to intuitions…“Via common sense”. Allowing a cheerful disposition to radiate through you. She is upon completion of her second book “GOOD SPIRITUAL HUMOR”. Her latest book welcomes all readers to the comforts of having “Christ” in their life. An oasis of sanity in the desert of chaos. An island of calm in the ocean of tension. A window of wise perspective in the wall of subjectivity. A ray of hope in the gloom of negative prognosis. Denise is also known for her ability to invoke enthusiasm and stimulate thought processes connecting individuals with their true essence. Her favorite being humorous writing. She uses her knowledge in that area to inspire appreciation. Denise spends her days writing, plotting her next grand adventure. She is well versed in the art of tapping the funny bone of her readers. She delights in offering her expertise in this area, helping others is a true measure of her worth.
