"I am a poet; I must be lest I perish"
--Bernice Angoh
Major influences:
Jesus Christ: The ultimate poet, writer and artist. The alpha and omega, the begining and the end- I love Him, I love Him, I love Him.
Khalil Gibran: The genius! One of the best gifts my husband ever gave me was a volume that has a collection of all his works. I am satisfied!
Sara Teasdale: A woman after my own heart, the romantic, the passionate, the awesome Sara. I learned with her that less is more.
Maya Angelou: The phenomenal woman. What more can be said?
E.E. Cummings: "I carry your heart with me."
Robert Browning: "You'll love me yet."
Stephen Crane: "Ah, God, the way your little finger moved."
Henry Constable: "My lady's pressence makes the roses red."
Michael Jackson: Lyrically, he taught me not to be afraid of being vunerable and I most especially love his ballads.
...and last but definitely not the least.....
Prince: My poetic soulmate.
