As a young girl Maya Angelo was my favorite writer. I liked the idea that she was one, black and two, a woman. I was intrigued by her poetry and style. I also enjoyed authors like, Beverly Cleary who told stories about my hero "Ramona". I think I was most intrigued as a young woman when I read Ilyana Ysvent, she tickled my soul and made me scream her name. Music has also always inspired me and I love to hear Mary J. tell her stories to hot beats. Words are a form of art that can either touch you deeply or bore you greatly. Having key knowledge in putting them together to reach souls, hearts and minds is what trully inspires me the most.
