I am a native of Minnesota living in Pennsylvania. Both states have so much to offer. I have always loved wherever I have lived (including Colorado and Europe). My husband and I have five children. They are a wonderful source of material! My favorite job was working for a weekly newspaper. Nothing beats that intimacy with the readership.

In third grade, the teacher sent a poem of mine to a classroom children's magazine. We were all so excited and I anxiously awaited the arrival of the magazine each month. The poem never was published (my first rejection) but that was a pivotal experience for me. I believed, and others did too, that I was a writer.
I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BS in Speech Communication/Theatre Arts. In high school and college my creative writing teachers were most encouraging.
