I've always loved to read and got my inspiration to write from a story written by one of my brothers. I figured if he could write, so could I. My favorite authors were Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Mickey Spillane and Richard S. Prather. Later came Louis L'Amour, Elmore Leonard, Robert B. Parker and Ray Bradbury.

WHISPERS IN THE WIND - THE SEARCH FOR JACK THE RIPPER earned a triple star rating from Goodreads. I did better with WHILE THE ANGELS SLEPT, earning four sunflowers (four stars) from Sunflower Productions. SHADOWLIGHT received a favorable review from MysteryFiction.net and my latest novel, TEXAS JUSTICE is a double award winner. Part I of the book (The Goodbye Trail)was an international finalist in 2009 for Best Historical Western Fiction (Eppie Award). I expanded on that story with Part II, (Tough Enough for Texas) which won a 1st Place Westward Ho Award in 2011.

I'm a former president of the Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas(www.fwca.org), former president of the White County Creative Writers group (www.whitecountrycreativewriters.org) and vice president of the Penpoint Writers Group.

Besides writing, I keep fit with martial arts. I hold black belts in four systems and I've been inducted twice into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame. I was named Jujitsu Instructor of the Year in 2003 and Master of the Year in 2005.
