I'm a chocolate fiend, until I want a cookie. But when I write, my keyboard remains pristine, unless and until another cat adopts me.

Background Information

I'm an author, writer, photographer, and blogger. I started life in London, England and sailed to Bombay, India at the age of 3 months with my parents; played, laughed, and learned to read and write there; and then at age 5 was told time to pack up we're moving and we're going to the land of snow. Snow? What the heck is that? On the way to Toronto, Canada, we stopped off in England for Christmas, and me and snow became acquainted. I was enchanted.

In Toronto, my mother wasted no time introducing me to the local public library. I'd hit pay dirt! I pacmanned my way through the children's section, through as many books as my parents could afford to buy, until the well ran dry. Fortunately, I discovered a new library when I started junior high and then another and another. I was off again.

Reading doesn't tell me what to write, but the authors I read inspire me, some with their writing style, some with their subject matter, and some with their amazing ability to entertain. Writing has taken me places I never expected to know. Creative writing classes where my classmates easily picked out my short stories in the weekly anonymous pile given us to review. Burgeoning websites where my knowledge of nutrition was put to good use writing articles for this new medium. More recently, blogs have opened me up to the idea of polishing first-draft writing while allowing me to talk about all sorts of things that interest me. Working on Lifeliner: The Judy Taylor Story, my debut book, I met so many amazing people, with interesting lives, who all intersected at the point of Judy Taylor. Through the publishing process, I met people from places I never could have anticipated. I've been honoured and surprised by the reaction my biography on Judy Taylor has engendered, and I'm amazed that Lifeliner has been named a Finalist in the Reader Views 2007 Literary Awards, winning First Place in the Biography category. Surf to Reader Views for more info, including an interview and Video Preview.

I created a website for my book Lifeliner, but in honour of a new year and my expanding online activities, I revamped it to showcase all my writing, not just my book, as well as my photography and newest interest, videography.
