I have been writing for 34 years, since I won a prize at 13. Through the years, I have published in various regional and national magazines, on subjects from education to wildlife to quilting to world history, publishing my first in a national education journal in 1988. I love this type of writing - it gives me an excuse to constantly be about the hobby of educating myself!
In 2005, I finished a first novel, and contacted an agency with a good reputation. The first I contacted. . and they took it on! But my excitement turned to disappointment when they changed management a few months later, and lost motivation toward my work in the confusion... after a year, I withdrew it and resolved to improve it - lemonade out of lemons, you know. It did spur me to keep it up - turning out the first novel was in fact possible!, and enjoyable. . . and I'm working on number 2 currently. (Number 1 is now "in the drawer", further fermenting.)
Meanwhile, I have found a voice in the world of political writing. My articles appear all over the internet, and I ghost write for various blogs. The articles have landed me radio interviews and positive attention and magazine sales on an international level. I am honored to be a past contributing editor at Family Security Matters online in the company of minds far greater than mine. For myself, I consider this writing a calling, in a very spiritual sense.
I have a degree in English/Journalism, and I will contract to do freelance editing/copywriting/reading ( - contact me, serious writers!).
