People say I am a daydreamer. Perhaps that is what makes a good novelist? My girlfriend loved the stories I made up while waiting for buses, especially as I reached a cliff-hanger when we arrived at our destination. For years, I could not put pen to paper, or use a typewriter. Every word seemed to disappear. Then, one day, I became bored with entering facts on my PC and wrote a novel.
Short story competition wins, runner-up prizes, and shortlisted entries showed the gift was there. With a little help from a distance-learning course and reading lots of 'how-to' books honed those skills to produce tight, page-turning writing. Now, I just can't stop. Sixteen novels and counting fast.
