Debbie Lewis, fiction (mainstream & paranormal) author and non-fiction (freelance) writer, became a voracious reader after learning her ABC's and wrote her first “novel” in the 3rd grade. As a freelancer (writer, communication consultant, writing instructor), she covers anything that doesn’t offend her; and as a creative writer, she believes if you just listen, inspiration vibrates everywhere. And it gets interesting when it's in the shower or the car!
Debbie has been invited to, and attended, two of the renowned Maui Writers Retreats. She has completed one novel (part of a trilogy) and has several others in varying stages, along with too many short stories to count. Most of her works, no matter the classified genre, share the theme of social commentary.
She honed her communication skills and extensively utilized writing skills in corporate America before going freelance. Her projects include newspaper and feature articles, interviews, web content, research, communication and marketing materials for all types of businesses, research, business plans, procedure manuals, training materials; including creating the communication models and documents for two corporate start-ups. She sends out a periodic, tip-filled communication newsletter to clients. While earning a BSBA in Marketing from the University of Denver, she also handled public relations for a United Way Agency. She founded and published Venue, a local quarterly arts magazine, worked as a Master Instructor for Writers in the Schools, is a sought after editor in the local writing community.
Whether writing creatively or as a freelancer, clients and readers complement Debbie on her dynamic writing that clearly conveys “the” message.
