Richard McCuistian was born in North Central Texas and moved with his parents and his sister to South Alabama in 1960.
Richard's mother Anne was (and still is) an avid reader and book collector, and when he learned to read in first grade (he entered school not even knowing the alphabet but passed every student in his first grade reading class in a few weeks),
Richard's mother bought books for him to read. Richard read dozens of books at a very early age and became captivated with science fiction after reading Madeline L'Engle's "A Wrinkle inTime." Richard's mother enrolled him in a Science Fiction Book club. Having read hundreds of science fiction books and stories, Richard tried his hand at writing in high school and found that he had a natural talent, not only for writing poetry and fiction, but also for writing technical articles. He has had more than a hundred of his technical articles published. Richard's technical work can be found on motorage.com.
Richard is a born again Christian, teaches two Sunday School classes with his wife every Sunday morning and writes his own commentary on every lesson he teaches. His fiction works are generally written with a Christian theme.
Richard maintains a website, www.askamechanic.info An excerpt from the novel can be seen under the "My New Novel" button on Richard's website.
